The Process of Learning English
In the video, I talked about two famous football players: Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
When we see these two players, it is easy to focus on how they have benefitted from their skills, for example:
- The beautiful wives/girlfriends
- The money and fame
- And being able to do something they love
But what we don’t see is what they have done, and continue to do, to reach the elite level of world football.
This is also true when it comes to English learning.
It’s easy to see someone who speaks English really well and to think that it just happened overnight.
But what we don’t see is what this person has done to reach this level. Their level is the result of a process; the result of doing the right things on a daily basis.
That is why I say it’s all about the journey.
Focus on the process. Focus on what will help you reach this high level. Focus on enjoying it as much as possible.
This is when you will start making real progress.
What to Do Now:

Thank you for the video! There’s a question I wanted to ask- what’s the correct pronunciation of the word “result”? Never heard it with the [u] sound. Is that also a norm now?
Here is a link for it: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/result – the way I say it is a regional thing.
